I have my uncle's and my mother's grade school autograph books. Many of the silly doggerels included were very like the ones in my 8th grade autograph book! Among these goofy ones are some that actually carry some thoughtful advice or congrats.Linda Gartzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00740477693031139484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3930899264249549964.post-17343941912939267102012-05-02T18:59:59.603-07:002012-05-02T18:59:59.603-07:00What a treasure!!! A distant relative has a autograph book from the late 1800's but I lost touch with him before I could get pictures of it. :( I hope I find him again.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06947147235981059318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3930899264249549964.post-63392477455406582572012-04-29T12:07:34.013-07:002012-04-29T12:07:34.013-07:00Gosh, you are so fortunate to have this treasure. ...Gosh, you are so fortunate to have this treasure. We all had autograph books in the 1960's, but it never occurred to me to ask my parents to sign it, or they didn't have any amusing rhyme to put in line "YYUR YYUB ICUR YY4 ME" like more interesting peeps did. Mine is full of schoolmates and minor pantomime actors :-) (YY = two Y's)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3930899264249549964.post-44325376936312637812012-04-29T11:51:11.610-07:002012-04-29T11:51:11.610-07:00To answer your question, that is really cool!

I remember having an autograph book in the 1970's, but I don't know what happened to it. In the short term, I don't think people think it's anything special, but after several decades, they become so valuable as family mementoes.

Any more to be shared?Elizabeth Handlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05529452862369140506noreply@blogger.com
